We had a great Christmas!
Taking a break from school has been so, so nice. Last week we were rushing around every day trying to get things done. The big boys were so patient, and Baby Z was a champ. Christmas came and went in a flurry, with the exception of 2 wonderful little pauses. Christmas morning, instead of reading the traditional story from Luke, Tim read from John 1. The boys and I memorized the first 11 verses last year, and I really enjoyed them this Christmas morning. I continue to be surprised at how weepy I can get over scripture. Also, Christmas night, Larry shared a special video version of the Christmas story that was really special to watch, having just had a baby recently. Thanks, guys, for leading us well!
Once again, I'm going to opt for a photo journal of our special days :).
We introduced the boys to cloves and oranges...
Zack mostly did good...
...even though "people" were teasing him...
...but a baby can only put up with so much.
Sam and Zack continue to bond.
Christmas morning Sleepy Heads:
(it cracks me up when they do the peace sign!)
This one was really groggy...
Opening stockings..
(No, we don't do stockings in our birthday suits...it just looks like it.)
Grandmother and Granddad came for a visit.
Zack got into a festive mood..
He needed just a little help opening his gifts...
Trevor drew this black-and-white thing for him to look at...sweet.
Just as cute from the back ;)
We had some really exciting underwear-gifting going on.
And that's all my Christmas pics.
Zack is growing fast. He is really filling up his swing:
I did a little video of him talking to his puppy. He loves looking at his stuffed animals, and grins and talks to them pretty often.
Lastly, here's more pictures of Zack, for those who can't get enough. Darn these digital cameras, anyway...it's way too easy to go overboard with the picture taking. :) It's a challenge to get a good picture of a smile...especially when smiling involves arm-flapping.
Good-Bye 2011...

The Second Month
Catchy title...I know. Well, I'll be happy to just get our pictures up. I have a RE-DIK-U-LUS amount of pictures, but I'm going to throw them all up anyway. I had given myself a time limit to blog tonight--the last night of our 2nd month-and I've gone over by 20 minutes already. Happy browsing...maybe I'll get around to writing more about these someday...
First picture of a smile:
Using our new swaddle blanket. It worked like a charm, and even taught Fussy Britches to use the swing like a good boy.
First meal cooked in the new kitchen: Sunday Night Smoothies
Uncle Tommy helping lay floors
And Grand Dad, too.
Chillin' out
Bathing: It's a family affair.
Working on lining the cupboards
We start em out on books young...
Zack's baptism
Checking out our friend's archeological dig.
Trevor using a tool Tim made for our friend, the archeologist. :)
The boys got their gold belts
Zack playing with his first toy.
Not sure what they were doing. I missed it. Guess I got this picture off Mom's camera. Any idea, Mom?
Zack smiling at his toy. Again...he loves it.
Grandma is mesmerizing...
Weighing in...12 pounds.
My sons...
Grandmother came for a visit...
So...we had a bout of thrush and yeast infections in our house for the last, oh, 7 weeks? After over a month of prescription medicines that didn't work, I went for the old gentian violet treatment. It's purple.
All set to shop. Purple.
Would you believe what the boys are watching?
They are watching our patio being jack hammered apart to find a leak underground. Thank you, God, that it wasn't under our house!!
2 months old today! (still a hint of purple above the lip...)
