Lambs, Hens and Carrots

We had the most fun Sunday afternoon. So, even though I'm not caught up on many old pictures, some from Trevor's birthday, I'm going to go ahead and write about our weekend.

We went out to the Sanchez farm again to pull more carrots, and also see their baby lambs! Almost as soon as we arrived, someone put this little guy in my arms. I was in mama heaven. I can't imagine ever getting tired of holding lambs...

I think the best part was trying to imagine that Jesus feels about me the same way I felt about those lambs. He says, "he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart."
I was so excited for the boys to hold the lambs too...

but, alas...I guess it's just for girls.

I can almost hear Sam's thoughts: You want me to touch that?? WHY?

See me trying to coax them?
They did finally give the baby one quick pat, and then were off to play.

Silly boys.

Well, I've got to hurry this up, or I'll never get it posted.

We left the lambs...

...to visit the chickens...
...one of which Jorge caught for us so we could hold it if we wanted. Some of us were unsure at first...

...but soon embraced the opportunity.
We did have to share though...
I did not embrace the opportunity. I don't think Jesus carried the hens close to his heart, so I skipped out. :)

Next we went to the sheep pens, which the mamas weren't too sure about...
It was confirmed that holding lambs is superior to holding chickens.
And watching them suckle was pretty fun too.
We finally got to the carrot pulling...

There were some freaks of nature...

Also snagged a ton of rutabagas.
Saw a pretty cow...
The men had fun talking...
...while the kids built a fort out of bricks. It looked like a fort-of-death. Can you image if it fell in on someone?? Thankfully that didn't happen.

It was a beautiful day!!!
